Fabio Quartararo believes the upcoming MotoGP race weekend at Phillip Island will be deeply emotional and special, following the decision to relocate the Australian Grand Prix to Adelaide starting in the 2027 season. The 2026 racing agenda marks a definitive farewell to the iconic seaside circuit before a brand-new era begins.

Despite holding a relatively modest historical record at the venue—with a premier class career-best finish of only ninth place—the French rider remains thoroughly enthusiastic about the track's distinctive character, which stands out prominently on the world championship calendar. The combination of high-speed corners and notoriously unpredictable weather creates a unique challenge embraced by the paddock.

"I enjoyed the week off and used the time to recharge before these final races of the season," Fabio Quartararo stated, as reported by Crash.net.

He further noted, "Phillip Island is a very unique circuit compared to most tracks we visit. It's also the last time we'll race here, so it will be special to experience the atmosphere one more time. For sure, I will give it my 100 per cent as always."

Meanwhile, across the Monster Energy Yamaha garage, team-mate Alex Rins boasts a much more successful background in Australia. The Spanish rider famously secured a brilliant victory at the venue back in 2022 while riding for Suzuki, bringing a wave of positive memories back to the surface.

"I'm really happy to be back at Phillip Island," expressed Alex Rins.

He concluded by emphasizing the weight of the occasion, "It's a track that I've always enjoyed, and I have many good memories here from different stages of my career. The layout is fantastic. Riding here this weekend, knowing that this is our final MotoGP weekend at Phillip Island, makes this round even more significant, so I want to enjoy every lap while also focusing on doing a good job for the team. We've had time to prepare during the break, and now I'm looking forward to getting started."
