Lando Norris delivered a stunning performance to secure pole position for the 2026 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort on Saturday. The McLaren driver outpaced the Mercedes duo, setting an impressive lap time amid looming rain threats.
Norris set the fastest time in Q3, beating George Russell who will start second. Meanwhile, Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli surprised many by securing third on the grid, ahead of Norris's teammate Oscar Piastri who had to settle for fourth.
The battle at the front looks intense, with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc taking fifth and sixth respectively. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen, racing on home soil, could only manage seventh for Red Bull, ahead of his teammate Liam Lawson.

The qualifying session was dramatic with rain threatening to disrupt Q3. However, the drivers managed to complete their final laps before the track became wet. Norris expressed his delight with the result and is optimistic for the race, though weather is expected to play a significant role.
With the grid now set, all eyes turn to Sunday's main race. The duel between Norris and Russell is predicted to be the highlight, with Verstappen sure to be aggressive in his bid to improve his position in front of his home crowd.
