Dino Beganovic Takes Chaotic F2 Pole at Madring

Dino Beganovic secured pole position for Formula 2's inaugural visit to the Madring circuit in Spain, navigating a chaotic qualifying session to set a fastest time of 1:44.331. The Swedish driver edged out his closest rival, Alex Dunne of Rodin Motorsport, by two tenths of a second.

The session was disrupted by several incidents that brought out red flags, preventing many drivers from setting competitive laps. Beganovic remained composed and capitalized on the opportunities, despite the challenging track conditions.

“It was a crazy session, but I'm happy to be on pole,” said Beganovic after qualifying. “The team did a fantastic job and we need to focus on the race.”

In third place, Invicta Racing's Rafael Camara, a title contender, will start from the second row. Meanwhile, for tomorrow's Sprint Race, Emmerson Fittipaldi and Ritomo Miyata will line up on the reverse grid front row.

The qualifying results were a blow for several drivers who failed to complete laps due to incidents, such as Kush Maini and Sebastian Montoya, who encountered technical issues. The chaotic session also posed a challenge for drivers to stay focused and take calculated risks.

With this pole position, Beganovic has a strong chance to claim his first win of the season in Sunday's Feature Race. However, competition is expected to be fierce with many fast drivers lurking behind.

The F2 Spanish Feature Race will take place on Sunday, with the Sprint Race on Saturday.
