Lando Norris stormed to victory at the Dutch GP, finishing 11.5 seconds ahead of Mercedes' Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The McLaren driver showed impressive pace all weekend, ending the sole practice session and Sprint Qualifying in second before finishing third in the Sprint. When it mattered, Norris and McLaren played their cards perfectly to take the win.
This victory is his second of the season and 13th of his F1 career, also marking his first back-to-back win in 2026 after taking the top step in Hungary. With 13 wins, he now equals the career tally of former F1 driver David Coulthard, who needed 15 seasons to reach that number, while Norris has done it in just eight.
On the Up to Speed podcast, Coulthard joked: "Oh God, I'm so pissed off! So pissed off! He's a World Champion and has got 13 wins, haha! No, he was awesome. He deserves it." He had earlier predicted Norris would win, and his lighthearted jab highlighted the respect he has for the young British driver.
Norris admitted the race was tough, saying: "It was a tough race. I said I need to put on a bit of a show for everyone for the final race here. I made it tough for myself, but a good race, well fought." He added it was probably one of his better wins, given the strong pace and the need to manage things well.
The victory was especially significant as Zandvoort hosted its final F1 race in 2026, making Norris the last winner there. Despite McLaren looking weaker than last season, the World Champion is on an upward trajectory. With 11 race weekends remaining, he sits fourth in the standings, 83 points behind leader Antonelli, and will be eager to defend his title.
