A brilliant competitive campaign offers absolutely no guarantees for the future in the unforgiving world of international rallying, as highlighted by one of the standout performers from Finland. Hailing from Laukaa in Central Finland, the talented driver claimed brilliant class victories in Sweden at the start of the year and secured another stellar win in Sardinia at the season finale. His impressive consistency also featured hard-fought WRC2 podium finishes during demanding gravel rallies in Portugal and Estonia.

His developmental trajectory throughout the year was undeniably clear for fans and observers to witness. After finishing a respectable sixth in the WRC2 standings last year, he made a massive leap forward to claim the runner-up position, trailing only Estonian standout Robert Virves who orchestrated a near-flawless championship run. Competing behind the wheel of a Printsport Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 backed by Rautio Motorsport, the Finnish contender proved his speed across various challenging terrains.

However, as financial realities in motorsport often dictate, even a phenomenal results sheet failed to secure immediate peace of mind for the following year. Speaking candidly in the service park at Rally Sardinia, the driver admitted that his immediate career path remains completely undecided. "What we will do next year is still very much up in the air. We need to start planning whether I will get to rally or whether I will have to come up with something else," he stated with a laugh to RallyJournal.com.

Looking ahead to the challenges of the next championship cycle, his primary goal remains clear. He hopes to secure a full program in the secondary tier of the World Rally Championship, targeting at least seven starts. "Of course, I would like to continue in WRC2 next year and contest at least seven rallies. It would be great to compete in events I have not done before. That would be a good thing for the future," the 28-year-old explained, emphasizing his desire to expand his event portfolio.

While rumors previously linked his current squad Printsport to potential new manufacturer roles overseen by Jari-Matti Latvala, the team's ongoing commitment to customer support remains their core foundation. Whether behind the wheel of next-generation machinery or continuing with proven equipment, the former WRC3 champion remains eager to keep his competitive career alive.
