WorldSBK, Sportrik Media - Danilo Petrucci has been cleared to return for the 2026 Czech WorldSBK round after recovering from a heavy impact suffered at Balaton Park two weeks ago.
The BMW rider was forced to miss Race 2 in Hungary after suffering a left hip contusion when he was hit by another rider during the Superpole Race.
Petrucci explained that he already felt physically ready following a strong week of recovery and training before arriving at the Most circuit.

"This morning they declared me fit, so I’m really happy. I was already feeling fit at home. I had a good week of training," Petrucci told WorldSBK.com.
His physical condition had been closely monitored because the Balaton incident also caused significant pain to his back and ribs.
"It was a big hit on my back and ribs. But all the checks and therapy I did at home went well," the Italian rider added.
Most has historically been one of Petrucci’s strongest circuits in WorldSBK. Last season he secured podium finishes in all three races at the Czech venue and consistently showed competitive pace with BMW machinery.
Attention this weekend will also focus on the return of Michael van der Mark, who replaces injured Miguel Oliveira after the Portuguese rider’s Superpole Race accident in Hungary.
Van der Mark admitted he was pleased to return to the WorldSBK grid, although he regretted the circumstances surrounding Oliveira’s absence.
"It feels nice to be back racing, but I wish it were in a different situation because Miguel was having a good season. I’m happy to help the team," said Van der Mark.
The Czech WorldSBK round is expected to become an important opportunity for BMW to recover after a difficult weekend at Balaton Park.
