The long-standing dominance of Yamaha within the production-based racing world championship is facing an unprecedented threat as aggressive Chinese manufacturers rapidly expand their footprint across the WorldSBK paddock. For years, the Japanese brand served as the absolute bedrock of the Supersport category, with the intermediate class famously resembling a one-brand cup due to their extensive machinery supply.

However, the shifting landscape became crystal clear when top-tier squad Evan Bros opted for a revolutionary switch to ZX Moto, an engineering gamble that instantly paid off with standout victories delivered by Valentin Debise during the fiercely contested 2026 racing season. This structural upheaval signals a new era where traditional manufacturers no longer hold a monopoly over successful satellite partnerships.

Another major blow struck the Iwata factory when Ten Kate Racing terminated its eight-year alliance to organize the official QJ Motor factory effort starting next season. Compounding these structural losses, the brand is also parting ways with its two premier riders of the season, Albert Arenas and Can Oncu, leaving a massive void in their competitive lineup.

Racing Director Andrea Dosoli openly addressed the high-profile departure of their loyal collaborators. «We are disappointed that they are embarking on a new path for 2027, but we would like to thank Ronald and Gerrit Ten Kate alongside their entire team for all their efforts over the past eight years,» Andrea Dosoli stated, acknowledging the rich history and three world titles achieved together.

The blue identity will vanish entirely from the Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship grid as CF Moto 675SR-R takes over as the exclusive motorcycle supplier for the next three years. With not a single rider breaking into the top ten of the overall Superbike standings last season, the Japanese powerhouse faces an uphill battle to fend off the rising eastern challenge.
