Charles Leclerc reflects on his roller-coaster history with Ferrari at the Circuit of the Americas, recalling the bitter pill of his 2023 disqualification due to an excessively worn plank—where teammate Lewis Hamilton also lost a second-place finish—before bouncing back with a dominant victory at the United States Grand Prix in 2024. The Monegasque driver has accumulated an impressive tally of classic Formula 1 victories, including Monza, Spa-Francorchamps, Monaco, Silverstone, Melbourne, and Austin.

Heading into the race weekend at the Circuit of the Americas, Leclerc openly declared his admiration for the challenging layout outside Austin. He highlighted the first sector of the lap as virtually unbeatable, praising the thrilling approach to Turn 1 with its multiple racing lines and subsequent fast sweeping bends. He emphasized that the circuit designers successfully implemented overtaking zones where an attacking driver must immediately anticipate a counter-attack from their rival.

Ahead of his 189th Grand Prix start, the 2022 World Championship runner-up anticipates another tightly contested battle among the front-running teams. Much will depend on who successfully introduces car upgrades, with Ferrari bringing minor updates where finding even a tenth of a second can make a crucial difference in performance. Leclerc noted that small aerodynamic or mechanical tweaks remain vital in such a fiercely competitive grid.

Discussing the broader championship landscape, Leclerc heaped high praise on Kimi Antonelli as the young talent stands on the verge of securing the world title. Leclerc remarked that he can only recall a single mistake from Antonelli all season, making the upcoming title win thoroughly deserved after such an impressive campaign. Meanwhile, Leclerc brushed off remarks made by Red Bull Racing driver Isack Hadjar, who previously claimed in the paddock that Ferrari had the fastest car in Singapore.

Leclerc dismissed the assertion as sheer nonsense, stating that Hadjar has as little insight into the true potential of the Ferrari as he does into the capabilities of his own car. Choosing to completely ignore such paddock chatter, the Ferrari driver remains firmly concentrated on optimizing his package for the upcoming battles on track as the 2026 season enters its critical final stretch.
