Marco Bezzecchi has received full support from Aprilia after a broken collarbone at the Sachsenring extended his difficult run since his dominant Mugello victory.
Bezzecchi’s form declined sharply after his home success. He was taken out in an incident with his team-mate in Hungary, crashed in the Brno Sprint and was then banned from the grand prix following an incident with a marshal.
The setbacks continued with a high-speed crash at the Dutch Grand Prix before Bezzecchi fell again during qualifying at the Sachsenring. The latest incident caused a collarbone injury and left him facing a recovery period over the summer break.

The sequence has limited Bezzecchi to only 13 points from a possible 148. After leading the championship during the early part of the season, he has dropped to fourth in the standings now headed by Jorge Martin.
“Marco knows that the team is all around him. So it is necessary to be very positive and take the opportunity of this summer break to recover,” team manager Paolo Bonora said.
Bonora believes Bezzecchi still possesses the same ability he showed when winning three grands prix at the start of the season and setting a new record for consecutive laps led. In his view, the recent run of setbacks has not changed the Italian rider’s underlying level.
“I’m convinced that Marco is still the same Marco Bezzecchi of Mugello. I’d like to say to him every time: remember that you are the same Marco as in Mugello,” Bonora added.
Aprilia now hopes the break will allow Bezzecchi to recover physically and rebuild his confidence. The next priority is ensuring he returns fully prepared to halt the decline in results at the following MotoGP round.
