Jorge Martin escaped a massive points loss in the MotoGP world championship standings thanks to the cancellation of the main race at Phillip Island, Australia. The horrifying crash suffered by the Spanish rider during an intense duel against Marc Marquez in the Sprint race had initially put the Italian manufacturer's garage on high alert. Fortunately, the cancellation of Sunday's race schedule brought immense relief amidst a very tricky situation for the factory squad.
Team manager Paolo Bonora provided official statements regarding the physical evolution of his star rider to broadcasting media DAZN. Although initial medical checks at the circuit's medical center confirmed a fracture in the right forearm, follow-up examinations brought much more favorable news than initially anticipated. Bonora stated that the rider's physical state looked quite encouraging when checked upon Sunday morning inside the paddock.
The team management is now targeting a swift recovery so the race winner can return to track action during the upcoming grand prix weekend. "Pese a la caida de ayer, esta manana lo hemos visto bien. Somos muy positivos. El objetivo es volverlo a ver en Sepang," Bonora stated regarding the recovery roadmap set for their primary rider ahead of the next round.

Nevertheless, the team management refuses to give absolute guarantees regarding the exact timeframe of his competitive return to the saddle. Every decision now rests entirely in the hands of medical professionals who monitor the healing process on a day-by-day basis. "Aun no sabemos en que estado volvera, tenemos que ir viendo dia a dia, pero nos confiamos perfectamente del cuadro medico y estamos absolutamente alineados con lo que nos digan, asi que lo esperamos con muchas ansias," Bonora added, emphasizing the team's cautious approach.
The most encouraging news for the factory outfit is that the radius bone fracture is non-displaced and does not require surgical intervention. This situation means the healing process relies strictly on natural bone regeneration over time without any complex complications. The cancellation of Sunday's race also successfully prevented championship rivals from drastically extending their points advantage at the top of the standings.
