Kimi Antonelli faces a tough weekend at the Italian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver will start from the back of the grid after the team opted for a power unit change, resulting in a grid penalty.
But the young Bologna-born racer won't fight alone. Support comes from the MotoGP paddock, specifically from the Aprilia Racing camp present at the historic Monza circuit.
A Special Boost from Across the Garage
Marco Bezzecchi, a close friend of Antonelli, arrived with the Aprilia delegation. Their presence provides an extra morale boost for the driver currently leading the F1 standings.
Also present were Massimo Rivola, Aprilia Racing's CEO with deep F1 experience from his Ferrari days, and Antonio Boselli, who handles motorsport communications for the Piaggio group. They are all there to offer encouragement amid the pressure of a home race.
Quality Time in the Paddock Motorhome
A warm moment was captured in a social media post by Marco Antonelli, Kimi's father. The photo shows them sharing dinner in one of the paddock's motorhomes on Saturday night.
It was the perfect way to fire up the number 12 Mercedes driver ahead of Sunday's crucial race. The primary goal is to limit the damage, but in a season-long title fight, nothing is impossible.
