The championship battle reaches its absolute boiling point as Matt Payne heads to Adelaide as the top seed. The Grove Racing star secured his coveted spot at the summit following a stellar victory in the second leg of the Sandown semi-final. Tension is now palpable across the paddock as the contenders prepare for the ultimate showdown on the city streets.
The fight for glory will see fierce battles against formidable rivals such as Brodie Kostecki representing Dick Johnson Racing, Chaz Mostert driving for Walkinshaw TWG, and Broc Feeney from Triple Eight. Kostecki locked in his place with a brilliant win on Saturday, overcoming a drive-through penalty during Sunday's race due to a starting procedure breach.
Meanwhile, an intense tie played out between Feeney and Mostert, who finished their Sandown campaign equal on points. Mostert ultimately claimed the third seed position on a tie-break rule. Reaching the Grand Final gives Feeney a golden opportunity to avenge his heartbreaking defeat from twelve months ago.

Mostert remains firmly in contention to defend his crown, though he will start the finale with the standings slightly slanted against him. Points for all four finalists are reset to a baseline of 5000 each following Sandown, with specific seeding bonuses applied accordingly. This season introduces a much greater spread of 150, 120, 96, and 78 points for the top contenders.
Conversely, heartbreak struck Anton De Pasquale, Cam Waters, and Will Brown as they were officially eliminated from championship contention at Sandown. De Pasquale fell just one spot short of a win-and-you-in ticket, while Waters and Brown struggled to make an impact after poor qualifying sessions.
