The electric motocross family from KTM continues to expand rapidly to cater to the next generation of riders. The Austrian manufacturer has officially enriched its eco-friendly off-road lineup by introducing the brand-new KTM SX-E 2.12. This model is specifically engineered to bridge the gap between the KTM SX-E 2 and the KTM SX-E 3, acting as an ideal alternative for taller children stepping into the world of dirt bike riding.
As reported by Motosan.es, this latest machine shares its extruded center-tube aluminum frame with its siblings, yet incorporates crucial updates to elevate the riding position. The most notable differentiator is the adoption of a 12-inch front wheel, paired with longer-travel suspension to effortlessly absorb rough terrain irregularities on the track.
Handling suspension duties is a WP hydraulic front fork offering 90 mm of travel, complemented by a rear mono-shock with 70 mm of travel and adjustable preload. This setup raises the seat height to 566 mm—66 mm higher than the baseline model—improving overall ergonomics for taller youngsters while maintaining a remarkably lightweight chassis scaling in at just 29 kg.

Propulsion is handled by a maintenance-free 1,8 kW hub motor paired with a 9,4 Ah lithium-ion battery featuring an IP65 protection rating. The powertrain delivers an instant 50 Nm of torque, offering progressive and manageable acceleration that helps novice riders build confidence safely on loose dirt surfaces.
Practicality is further enhanced by a high-output external charger up to 500 W, capable of replenishing the battery from zero to full capacity in approximately one hour. This rapid turnaround time minimizes downtime in the paddock and maximizes riding duration during practice sessions.
