The second practice session of the 2026 Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos delivered an intense battle at the sharp end of the grid. Kimi Antonelli bounced back to secure the fastest lap time, asserting his pace under the overcast skies of Sao Paulo.
The newly-crowned world champion stopped the clock at 1:10.763 on soft compound tyres. Despite the threat of rain hanging over the circuit, the track remained dry, allowing teams to gather crucial telemetry data for both single-lap pace and race simulations.
Behind Antonelli, Lando Norris showcased strong form with McLaren's upgraded aerodynamic package. Norris settled for second place, roughly two and a half tenths adrift of the pacesetter, narrowly beating Max Verstappen who placed third for Red Bull Racing.

Meanwhile, Scuderia Ferrari struggled to find optimal performance with the SF-26 on a flying lap. Lewis Hamilton ended the session down in sixth position, while his teammate completed the session further back in seventh following a near-miss moment on the main straight.
This competitive practice session sets the stage for a thrilling remainder of the race weekend at Interlagos, with teams analyzing tire degradation and downforce setups ahead of qualifying.
