Antonio Giovinazzi claimed pole position for the Lone Star Le Mans in a tense qualifying session at the Circuit of the Americas. The climax came when his time matched Jack Aitken's to the thousandth of a second, but Ferrari kept the top spot because Giovinazzi set the lap first.
0.000s Duel in Hyperpole
For much of the session, pole seemed destined for the #38 Cadillac driven by Aitken. But with one minute remaining, Giovinazzi fired in a 1:52.445 lap in the #51 Ferrari. Aitken responded immediately, equaling that time, but the timing screens showed a 0.000s gap, and the tiebreaker favored the Italian.
Nicklas Nielsen in the #50 Ferrari had earlier set the pace with a 1:52.020, ahead of Viktor Martins in the #36 Alpine. Both Genesis and Alpine progressed both cars to Hyperpole, while Aston Martin and Peugeot failed to advance either entry.

Barrichello Secures LMGT3 Pole for Aston Martin
In LMGT3, Eduardo Barrichello of Heart of Racing took pole in the #23 Aston Martin, edging teammate Zacharie Robichon by 0.18s. This marks Aston Martin's third consecutive pole in the class this season.
Both Corvettes, including the points-leading #33, failed to make Hyperpole. Jonny Edgar, driver of the #33, admitted the team's struggles at this track and hopes for a clean race to score points.
