The calendar for this year’s Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship has drawn heavy criticism due to its sparse scheduling. With only six meetings spread thinly from March to October, a staggering three-month gap separates the final two rounds at Donington Park and Jerez, leaving competitors with far less track time than their talent deserves.

Given this extensive break, many participants are expected to arrive at the season finale this coming weekend underprepared. The majority of the grid must balance racing with regular jobs or university studies, lacking both the time and heavy financial backing from sponsors to conduct sufficient private testing and training sessions on track.

Despite the logistical hurdles and expected performance gaps on the asphalt of Circuito de Jerez, the season-closer promises an action-packed 26-rider grid filled with fresh faces and returning talents, featuring two wildcard entries alongside three replacement riders stepping in for injured regulars.

Teenage prospects Luana Giuliani representing Prata Motor Sport and Carla Molut riding for GMT94 are set to make their world championship debuts. The 18-year-old Italian teenager steps in for Karolina Danak, while the 19-year-old French rider replaces her injured compatriot Lucie Boudesseul for the Spanish showdown.

Other notable figures returning to the paddock include Krystal Silfa from the Dominican Republic. The 22-year-old previously raced for the Italika team in Misano and Donington, clinching a top-fifteen finish. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Colombian rider Sarah Varon aims for redemption after a lengthy injury restricted her to just a single meeting last year, despite impressing onlookers during official pre-season tests.

Adding serious firepower to the grid is the standout wildcard entry from New Zealand, Avalon Lewis. Having finished an impressive eighth overall in last season's championship standings, the rapid Kiwi racer arrives backed by DJ Carl Cox to challenge the regular championship contenders.
