Perrone capitalized on Red Bull’s team formation strategy, positioning himself at the rear of the group to maximize slipstream benefits. Despite a near-crash in Q2 due to a front wheel lock-up, he posted a time of 1m 39.938s, securing his maiden pole. Piqueras, who led Friday’s sessions, took second, 0.046 seconds behind, while Yamanaka completed the front row despite a crash at turn four. Dennis Foggia and Maximo Quiles of CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team finished fourth and fifth, with Quiles’ final lap canceled due to track limit violations.

Q1 was led by Nicola Carraro, who advanced to Q2 with an impressive time, followed by Jacob Roulstone, Marcos Uriarte, and Cormac Buchanan. Buchanan faces a potential penalty for an early pit exit in Q2. Three replacement riders competed in Spielberg: Uriarte for Matteo Bertelle, Arbi Aditama for Tatchakorn Buasri, and Casey O’Gorman for Luca Lunetta. Debutant O’Gorman finished 20th after missing a chance to use fresh tires in Q1.

Perrone’s pole position positions him strongly for his first Moto3 victory. However, Piqueras and Yamanaka, with consistent pace, pose significant threats. With championship leader Jose Antonio Rueda starting eighth, the front-row battle will be intense. Can Perrone convert his pole into a win?
