Charles Leclerc admitted that Ferrari missed out on a potential victory at the 2026 US Grand Prix primarily due to difficulties encountered during qualifying at the Circuit of the Americas.
The Monegasque driver crossed the finish line behind the dominant Mercedes pacesetter, who cruised to a comfortable victory with a margin of nearly 13 seconds.
Despite the gap to the front, the race inside the cockpit was far from boring as Leclerc engaged in fierce wheel-to-wheel battles with Max Verstappen and title contenders.

Ferrari initially banked on a strategic one-stop prediction where their rival's tires were expected to degrade significantly in the final stint, but that tire drop-off never materialized.
Leclerc stressed that the race defeat stemmed from Saturday's struggles to get the tires into the optimal temperature window during Q3 rather than Sunday's strategic calls. Read our in-depth technical analysis here.
