Motorsport's governing body FIA has announced a wide-ranging strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services to upgrade its digital capabilities and technical regulation framework. Under the new agreement, the tech giant joins as the Official AI and Cloud Computing Partner to revolutionize how future rulebooks are drafted.
With this integration, the organization will leverage advanced artificial intelligence tools to improve its capability to produce future technical regulations. This digital transformation aims to ensure that rule-making processes remain at the absolute cutting-edge of automotive engineering and aerodynamic development within global championships.
The FIA already runs its critical aerodynamic simulations on AWS’s High Performance Computing technology. This advanced infrastructure allows engineers to conduct complex airflow tests in a virtual environment without manufacturing physical components, drastically speeding up development cycles and reducing operational costs.

Furthermore, the collaboration expands the digital licensing platform utilized to streamline administrative tasks such as license management. First successfully trialed in Canada and Sri Lanka, this modernized digital framework will now roll out across multiple countries to assist national sporting authorities in running events smoothly.
Commenting on the landmark agreement, Mohammed Ben Sulayem stated that technology is fundamentally changing every part of the sport and that the governing body must lead that change. By integrating world-class cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure, the organization moves closer to its core ambition of doubling global motorsport participation.
