Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Formula 1 has officially confirmed the return of the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park to the calendar from the 2027 season, following a six-year absence.

The agreement covers a five-year period through to 2031, marking the comeback of one of the most technically demanding and highly regarded circuits in modern Formula 1. Istanbul Park previously hosted races from 2005 to 2011, before returning temporarily in 2020 and 2021 during the COVID-19-affected seasons.

The circuit is widely recognised for its flowing layout, particularly the multi-apex Turn 8, which has become one of the defining corners in Formula 1. Its return has long been anticipated following sustained discussions between Formula 1, circuit officials, and Turkish authorities.

President of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, described the return as a reflection of Formula 1’s continued global growth and expansion into key markets.
