Team 18 Recruits Ex-BRT Crew Chief for Wildcard

Team 18 has made a bold move by recruiting the former crew chief of Blanchard Racing Team (BRT) to bolster their wildcard program in Supercars. The announcement comes ahead of Bayley Hall's debut at Ipswich, scheduled later this month.

Huijser recently parted ways with BRT after a 15-month stint, during which he was credited for improving the squad's car preparation. He previously worked at Team 18 from 2022 to 2024, starting as crew chief and later serving as team manager.

His presence at The Bend today signals the team's seriousness in maximizing the Supercheap Auto wildcard program, which was taken over from Triple Eight this year following the powerhouse squad's switch to Ford. Hall will make his Supercars debut in the Sprint Cup finale at Ipswich before tackling the Enduro Cup alongside Craig Lowndes.

The Supercheap Camaro is being engineered by veteran Richard Hollway, who is also guiding Hall's Super2 Series campaign with Eggleston Motorsport. On Thursday, Hall tested his Super2 Commodore at The Bend, with Lowndes having a cameo steer.

Several young drivers are also testing at The Bend today, including Rylan Gray (Dick Johnson Racing), Jackson Walls (Triple Eight), Zach Bates (Matt Stone Racing), and Jayden Ojeda (PremiAir Racing). Walkinshaw TWG Racing is also present with its Toyota Supra, shared by Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood.
