Operation Blackmotor by the Guardia Civil in Mallorca has dismantled a network involved in stealing and shipping motorcycles to Senegal. A 50-year-old man of Maghrebi origin was arrested in Selva, accused of leading an illegal workshop where 19 stolen motorcycles were found.
The raid uncovered a sophisticated operation that went beyond simply hiding vehicles. The stolen bikes were not only concealed but also manipulated, disassembled, and prepared to leave the island in parts. Investigators believe Senegal was their final destination.
The investigation began after a spike in motorcycle and scooter thefts in Palma over recent months. Authorities traced several stolen vehicles to the Part Forana area and eventually to Selva, where an abandoned factory was being used as a storage and processing center.

Inside, police discovered 19 motorcycles reported stolen between April and June. Checks on the chassis numbers confirmed they belonged to the victims. Many of the bikes had been partially or completely dismantled, with license plates removed.
This disassembly was clearly intentional, making identification harder and shipping easier. Evidence of packaging and labeling suggested the parts were prepared for transport, likely to be reassembled and sold in Senegal.
The network is believed to have used sea routes to ship the components, avoiding detection while profiting from the stolen bikes. This arrest is a major blow to the stolen vehicle syndicate operating in Mallorca.
