The Lorenzo Guarnieri and Claudio Ciai foundations have launched an educational initiative named the Safe Road Project to address ongoing road safety challenges across Italy. The program is offered free of charge nationwide, providing structured curricula for high school students and educators aimed at reshaping public perceptions of shared mobility.
In discussing the initiative, Stefano Guarnieri emphasized that road violence is fundamentally a social issue rather than a mere accident. This perspective highlights how driving behavior often reflects individual ego in public spaces, where regulations are frequently disregarded for personal convenience without considering the safety of vulnerable road users.
The Safe Road Project delivers a thirty-hour training course for high school students, which is officially certified as part of the national school-work training program. Additionally, a forty-hour course is made available specifically for teachers and educators, having received formal recognition from the relevant ministry in Italy.

The curriculum covers a broad range of topics including the history of mobility, psychological factors influencing drivers, modern automotive technologies, cycling infrastructure development, and the core concept of treating public roads as shared community spaces rather than competitive tracks.
Through this structured educational approach, the organizers aim to foster traffic awareness from an early age. Prevention through formal education is presented as an essential foundation for building a more civil and responsible driving culture in the future.
