An extraordinary racing spectacle awaits fans this weekend as Brian Hodson prepares to undertake a thrilling double-duty challenge at the temporary Adelaide Speedway. The talented young New Zealand driver, widely known for his exploits in the Super2 championship, is set to headline a packed summer schedule by piloting both a high-powered Sprintcar and his familiar ZB Commodore touring car across the exact same weekend.
Constructed over a cricket field, the compact 342-metre temporary dirt track will host five distinct racing categories during a high-stakes event. For Hodson, the relatively flat and unbanked layout of the circuit brings a familiar feel reminiscent of his home tracks in New Zealand. He believes this characteristic will offer a slight advantage as he adapts quickly to the unique dirt-track conditions against a stellar international field.
The competition will feature an elite lineup of drivers, including elite Sprintcar regular Max Guilford from New Zealand and hard-charging stars traveling directly from the United States. Notable American contenders include California native Joel Myers Jr, alongside established World of Outlaws competitors Hunter Schuerenberg and race winner Garet Williamson, raising the overall competitive benchmark significantly.

I am so keen to be doing the double, it is going to be a massive weekend, Hodson told Speedcafe. Obviously, Adelaide itself is just a big weekend being the Grand Final, but going across both cars is going to be a pretty cool one.
Looking ahead at the heavy international presence, Hodson emphasized the learning opportunity presented by the visiting American contingent. We have got a few of those good American guys coming in, so they will obviously be pretty sharp, coming off a full year in the opposite season to us, he concluded. The NAPA Speedway in the City event runs concurrently with the BP Adelaide Grand Final from November 26-29, featuring a growing entry list of top-tier talent.
