Maximo Quiles won a dramatic Moto3 San Marino 2026 race at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on Sunday (13/9/2026). A last-corner overtake on the final lap secured a stunning victory for Quiles, while Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama finished 18th and missed out on points.
The 20-lap race began with David Almansa on pole. Veda Ega Pratama started from 15th and briefly fought in the points zone before gradually losing positions to finish 18th. Almansa, who led most of the race, had to settle for second after losing the win at the final corner.
From the first lap, Almansa led ahead of Brian Uriarte and Valentin Perrone. Veda dropped to 16th before returning to 15th on lap three. However, pressure from rivals saw him continue to lose ground. Entering lap eight, Hakim Danish passed Veda, and his position plummeted to 18th on lap nine, then 19th on lap ten.

At the front, the battle intensified. Maximo Quiles overtook Uriarte for second on lap six, but Uriarte reclaimed it on lap eleven, just 0.2 seconds behind Almansa. Quiles then retook second on lap 14 and began building momentum to attack the leader.
The tension peaked on the final lap. Quiles, who had been shadowing Almansa, seized his chance at the last corner, overtaking to snatch victory. Almansa had to settle for second, followed by Uriarte in third. Meanwhile, Veda Ega Pratama finished 18th, and Hakim Danish ended 12th as the only Southeast Asian rider to score points.
With this result, Quiles strengthens his position in the Moto3 standings, while Almansa and Uriarte remain serious contenders. For Veda, the Misano race was a valuable lesson after briefly fighting in the points. The next Moto3 round will be a chance for Veda to bounce back and show his potential.
