BIOGRAPHY

Fabio Quartararo is a French MotoGP rider famously nicknamed "El Diablo" (The Devil). Making history as the first French rider to win a premier class World Championship (2021), he is known for his incredibly fluid riding style, blistering qualifying speed, and his ability to extract the absolute maximum limit from the Yamaha YZR-M1. Despite facing difficult periods in bike development, he continues to show tremendous loyalty and dedication to his team.

Career Journey

  • Early Career & Weight of Expectations (2013–2018): Winning the CEV Moto3 championship back-to-back at a very young age, he initially carried a heavy burden after being hyped as "The Next Marc Marquez." His world championship journey in Moto3 and Moto2 was filled with hurdles and the intense pressure of expectations, before he finally scored a crucial Moto2 victory in 2018 that saved his career and opened the door to the premier class.
  • Rookie Sensation & World Championship Crown (2019–2021): Promoted to MotoGP with the Petronas Yamaha SRT satellite team in 2019, he immediately shocked the world by securing multiple pole positions and podiums, frequently dueling directly against Marc Marquez. Moving to the Monster Energy Yamaha factory team in 2021, he delivered highly consistent and dominant performances to clinch the MotoGP World Championship, writing golden history for France.
  • Title Fight & Yamaha's Struggles (2022–2023): Finishing as the runner-up in the 2022 season after a fierce second-half battle against Francesco Bagnaia, Quartararo was then faced with a performance crisis as the Yamaha machine fell technically behind its European rivals. Despite an uncompetitive bike, he consistently fought to extract every ounce of potential from the M1, often riding well beyond the bike's actual limits.
  • Loyalty & The Revival Era (2024–Present): Entering the 2025 and 2026 seasons, Quartararo showcased immense loyalty by signing a long-term contract extension with the Iwata manufacturer. As the absolute spearhead of the team, he is now leading Yamaha's massive technical restructuring and development project alongside Alex Rins, fiercely determined to return the tuning fork brand to the absolute pinnacle of world championship racing.
