The shifting landscape of Ducati in the premier class continues to generate major headlines among paddock insiders. During the EICMA event, Paolo Ciabatti, general director of Ducati Corse Off-Road, shared his perspective on Marc Marquez's current campaign with the Borgo Panigale factory and the long-term outlook for the squad.
Speaking to Italian outlet Moto.it, the experienced motorsport executive reflected on his tenure and past milestones, including the recruitment of former champion Casey Stoner as a test rider. Ciabatti recalled how quickly the Australian adapted during private tests at Sepang, immediately setting blistering lap times right from his very first outing.
"He proved to be an exceptional rider because when we went out on track at Sepang, after three laps, he was already the fastest. He is a great rider, a truly exceptional rider," Ciabatti stated while recounting Stoner's innate talent.

The conversation naturally gravitated toward the present era and the competitive impact brought by Marquez's transition to the red machine. Looking ahead to future sporting cycles, Ciabatti dropped a strong hint regarding how the Italian manufacturer plans to maintain its dominant status by tapping into emerging generational talents like Pedro Acosta.
"Ducati, with Marquez and Acosta, will create the strongest team of 2027," Ciabatti declared, outlining an immense powerhouse lineup as the championship prepares for future regulatory shifts.
