Nicolo Bulega wrapped up the 2026 WorldSBK championship in supreme fashion by claiming victory in Sunday afternoon's second race at the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto. The Italian rider secured his 32nd win out of 36 races, putting a definitive stamp on a historic and utterly dominant campaign.
As the lights went out, Iker Lecuona made a brilliant launch to dive into the first corner in the lead. However, Bulega quickly fought back on the opening lap to reclaim top spot and immediately embarked on a commanding solo breakaway aboard his factory machine.
A tense battle unfolded in the closing stages as light raindrops began to fall with four laps remaining. The changing grip levels raised the stakes in the fight for the final podium spot, allowing Sam Lowes to execute a crucial overtake on the final lap to snatch third place.
At the front, Bulega remained flawless to cross the finish line 4.696 seconds clear of his teammate, while heavy torrential rain only struck the Spanish venue moments after the race concluded. Bulega ultimately crowned himself world champion with a staggering 726 points to cap off a remarkable year.
