Nicolo Bulega Aims to Learn from Fermin Aldeguer Ahead of 2027 MotoGP Debut

Preparing for a massive career transition, WorldSBK champion Nicolo Bulega is officially making his long-awaited jump to the premier class next season with the VR46 squad. The Italian star wrapped up his dominant tenure in production-based racing with a stunning triple victory at the Jerez season finale, cementing an incredible legacy before stepping into the Grand Prix paddock.

This major move will see Bulega sharing the garage with Fermin Aldeguer for the 2027 campaign. Aldeguer is currently completing his second season in the premier class following his stint with Gresini, though he was recently spotted in the paddock recovering from hand surgery after a crash at Mandalika.

A brief encounter in the Jerez paddock allowed the incoming rookie to connect with his future teammate, whose speed and existing premier-class experience are expected to play a crucial role in Bulega's swift adaptation to prototype machinery under Valentino Rossi's banner.

"I don’t know him very well. He seems like a really great guy. I talked to him for five minutes this morning when he visited my garage," Nicolo Bulega explained to the media including Motorsport Week in Jerez.

The Italian rider expressed optimism about forging a strong partnership within the team, acknowledging that his teammate's baseline experience in the premier category will be vital as they tackle a heavily anticipated regulatory era featuring Pirelli as the sole tyre supplier.

"He’s very fast. I hope to learn from him next season, as he already has some MotoGP experience, not a lot, but some. I hope we build a good relationship," Bulega added regarding his upcoming teammate dynamics.

Bulega now follows the footsteps of fellow Superbike standout Toprak Razgatlioglu onto the modern Grand Prix grid. While Razgatlioglu faced a steep learning curve adapting to Michelin rubber, Bulega is set to step straight onto one of the most competitive Ducati packages available on the grid.
