The rider market ahead of the upcoming motocross season has delivered a major shake-up with Nico Koch officially departing from Becker Racing to ink a deal with Sarholz KTM. This strategic signing comes on the heels of Tom Koch's departure to the newly formed ERC-Kawasaki squad. Interestingly, the rider from Braunschweig is neither related nor connected by marriage to Tom or Tim Koch, yet he arrives with immense pedigree to spearhead the team's assault in both the ADAC MX Masters and the German Supercross Championship.

This high-profile transfer also triggers an intriguing reunion inside the team garage. Noah Ludwig and Nico Koch previously shared a pit box together back in 2023 under the Becker Racing banner. Their prior experience as teammates is expected to foster immediate chemistry and streamline the adaptation process under team principal Andre Sarholz's rigorous operational framework.

Over the years, Nico Koch has forged an exceptional reputation as a true Supercross specialist. Fans will vividly recall his standout performance at the 2024 Dortmund Supercross, where he briefly led the SX2 finals and secured third place across two separate event days. He carried that stellar momentum to cap off the 2023/2024 campaign as the third-place finisher overall in the highly competitive ADAC SX Cup standings.

His prowess has also translated onto the demanding American stage. During his AMA Supercross debut in San Diego in 2025, he immediately punched his ticket into the 250SX main event and crossed the finish line in 17th position. He replicated that feat a year later in Seattle, capturing global motorsport headlines by setting the 7th fastest overall time during free practice and bagging crucial championship points.
