Morgan Wins BTCC Knockhill Race 1, Plato Racing 1-2

Adam Morgan finally broke his four-year winless streak in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) with a stellar performance at Knockhill. The Cataclean Plato Racing driver claimed the team's maiden race victory, delivering a remarkable 1-2 finish.

Starting from pole for the first time in eight years, Morgan got a clean launch on the wet track. Gordon Shedden slotted into second, with Dan Rowbottom holding third. But Morgan quickly pulled away, building a nearly two-second lead by lap three.

The battle behind was intense. Ricky Collard and Ash Sutton made sensational starts, climbing to P5 and P7, while Dexter Patterson sent Tom Chilton spinning down the order. On lap four, Rowbottom finally got past Shedden after a firm defence from the Scot.

Incidents were inevitable. Dan Cammish was handed a 10-second penalty for a false start, and Daryl De Leon pitted with a meatball flag for a dangling rear bumper. Tom Ingram, fighting for the title, was spectacular, overtaking several drivers including Collard and Rainford.

The safety car was deployed after Lewis Gilbert beached his BMW in the gravel following contact with Josh Cook. Racing resumed on lap 23, extended to 27 laps. Morgan got away cleanly, with Rowbottom defending superbly to create a gap. At the flag, Morgan secured his first win as a team boss, locking out a 1-2 for Plato Racing. Shedden completed the podium in third on home soil.
