Marco Bezzecchi has been cleared of any injuries following his high-speed crash during the 2026 Assen MotoGP. Aprilia Racing confirmed the Italian rider has been discharged from hospital after completing comprehensive medical examinations.
Bezzecchi crashed at Turn 15 on lap two of the Dutch Grand Prix before receiving initial treatment at the circuit medical centre. Due to the severity of the impact, he was subsequently transferred to the University Medical Center Groningen for further evaluation.
According to Aprilia Racing, Bezzecchi underwent CT scans and full radiological examinations. The results showed no injuries, allowing the #72 rider to be declared fit to leave the hospital.

Although no injuries were detected, Bezzecchi will now return to Italy to rest and recover physically before resuming his racing programme. Aprilia intends to give the Italian sufficient time to regain full fitness following the heavy accident.
The Assen crash ended Bezzecchi's race after he had displayed competitive pace throughout the weekend. The retirement also cost him the lead of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship standings.
Bezzecchi's focus now shifts to recovering in time for Round 11 of the season at the German MotoGP, which will take place at Sachsenring from 10-12 July.
