Marco Bezzecchi candidly admitted that the Indonesian Grand Prix weekend felt more like a defeat than a triumph, even after bouncing back from a sprint crash to dominate Sunday's main race.
The Italian rider ended his victory drought in stunning fashion at Mandalika, leading a historic 1-2-3-4 lock-out for Aprilia Racing at one of the marque's strongest circuits on the calendar.
However, the milestone result came in the immediate wake of a disastrous sprint for the factory squad, where Bezzecchi collided with Raul Fernandez on the opening lap while Jorge Martin lost a certain victory due to tyre pressure issues and a late error.

Matters were further complicated when Fernandez suffered a broken finger and publicly criticised Bezzecchi's on-track actions, prompting the team management to hold internal talks with both riders before Sunday's lights out.
Despite the Saturday disaster leaving him trailing significantly in the championship chase, Bezzecchi insisted he never entertained the thought of giving up when facing adversity in the title battle.
"I came here this weekend knowing that I could be fast and knowing that if I worked well, there was a possibility to gain some points. And yesterday, I fell," Bezzecchi reflected on his roller-coaster weekend in the paddock.
"A race incident can happen. What can you do? You're going to cry and don't start today? Or you're going to try your best and make it the best that you can? In the end, it is what I did," he added.
Bezzecchi successfully clawed back crucial points with his superb victory, while his stablemate finished a distant third and Marc Marquez could only salvage sixth place aboard the factory Ducati machine.
Even so, the Italian still faces a substantial 46-point deficit with just five rounds remaining in the season, keeping his championship ambitions under immense pressure.
"Before this round, I knew that maybe I had to risk a little bit more here. Yesterday that didn't pay off, but fortunately today the race was good. I'm still far, but my mentality is still the same. I will keep fighting till the end," he concluded.
