An extraordinary display of racing was delivered by Marc Marquez during the action-packed weekend at the Lusail International Circuit. The factory Ducati rider secured a crucial victory in a dramatic sprint race filled with high tension, setting up a golden opportunity to seal the world championship title on Sunday.
The competition was fierce right from the start as Marco Bezzecchi, riding for Aprilia Racing, led the opening lap from pole position. However, tension reached its peak on the very first lap following a massive crash at the final corner involving Pecco Bagnaia and Fermin Aldeguer, which forced race control to deploy the red flag and halt proceedings for medical intervention.
Once the race restarted over a 10-lap sprint distance, the battle at the front resumed instantly between Marquez and Bezzecchi. Their intense duel culminated in a dramatic collision at Turn 1 when Bezzecchi attempted an aggressive overtaking maneuver. Contact was unavoidable as Marquez fought to hold his racing line, sending the Italian rider crashing out of contention.

Meanwhile, Fabio Di Giannantonio put on a stellar performance to charge through the field in the closing stages. He successfully overtook Jorge Martin, who had been fighting hard near the podium positions. Martin ultimately had to settle for a lower spot on the podium after failing to hold off the late charge.
With this brilliant result, the points gap at the top of the standings has stretched to 49 points. Marquez now stands on the brink of history and is just one step away from capturing the world championship crown tomorrow, provided he wins the grand prix and his main rival fails to score.
