The long-term future of one of the most iconic venues on the Formula 1 calendar has been officially secured after agreement was reached to extend its hosting rights. The Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, universally recognized as Interlagos, will continue to host the Sao Paulo Grand Prix for an additional five years, locking in the Brazilian event until at least 2035.
Having first joined the world championship calendar back in 1973, Interlagos has firmly established itself as an absolute favourite among drivers, teams, and passionate motorsport enthusiasts worldwide. The latest agreement guarantees that the legendary circuit will remain a cornerstone of the global racing schedule for years to come, preserving its unique racing heritage and dramatic on-track battles.
Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali expressed his delight over the multi-year extension, emphasizing the deep historical connection and the vibrant atmosphere created by the local fans in South America.

"Brazil is an important part of Formula 1’s history and our future, and I am delighted that this five-year extension will see us continue racing in Sao Paulo until 2035," stated Stefano Domenicali, while also acknowledging the country's proud legacy of producing elite racing talent, including contemporary rising stars such as Gabriel Bortoleto and Rafael Camara.
Sao Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes echoed these sentiments, highlighting that the renewal represents a monumental milestone for the local economy, tourism, and the city's international profile by guaranteeing stability and continued investment for the major global sporting showcase.
