Marc Marquez returned to riding at MotorLand Aragon on 31 July 2026 as part of his preparations for MotoGP’s return from the summer break and the 2026 British MotoGP at Silverstone.

The nine-time world champion rode a Ducati Panigale V2 on MotorLand’s karting layout rather than the full Grand Prix circuit. The session gave Marquez an opportunity to rebuild his rhythm after taking time away from riding following the German MotoGP, the final race before the summer break.

Marquez’s training approach differs from that of his Ducati Lenovo Team team-mate Francesco Bagnaia, who more commonly rides on full-size circuits such as Misano with a 1,000cc Panigale V4. Marquez has instead regularly used the Panigale V2 on smaller layouts including MotorLand and the Aspar Circuit.

The summer break has been particularly valuable for Marquez as he continues to recover from physical problems that have affected his 2026 campaign. His main concern has been his right shoulder, where he has dealt with inconsistent strength and feeling following previous damage and the surgeries he underwent after the French Grand Prix in May.

Marquez’s form improved after returning from those procedures. He claimed his first victory of the season in Hungary before adding further wins in Czechia and Germany, with a seventh-place finish in the Netherlands between those results.

His approach at Assen underlined how managing his physical condition remains an important part of his championship strategy. Rather than increasing the risk of another crash and potentially worsening his condition, Marquez focused on completing the weekend and limiting the points lost.

Marquez’s return to the track at MotorLand Aragon therefore forms part of his preparation for the 2026 British MotoGP. Silverstone represents his next challenge after the summer break as he looks to arrive in stronger physical condition and continue the winning momentum established before the pause in the season.
