Marc Marquez insists that his opportunity to secure the world championship crown during the Lusail weekend remains distant due to the fierce competitiveness displayed by his main rivals during Friday's practice sessions.
The factory Ducati stalwart arrives at the penultimate round with a mathematical chance of clinching his eighth premier class title, provided he can outscore his championship antagonists by a significant margin.
Despite finishing second overall following a demanding Practice session, the veteran Spaniard admitted that he is bracing for a tricky Grand Prix weekend given the blistering pace shown throughout the grid.

Tension in the pit lane intensified after Fabio Di Giannantonio sensationally topped the timesheets with a new lap record aboard his VR46 machine, while Marco Bezzecchi also showcased ominous race pace on his Aprilia.
“The championship is not done,” Marquez told TNT Sports after stepping off his machine.
“I mean, still I feel that it’s far, especially because Bezzecchi, as we see, is pushing and riding in a very good way,” he explained.
The eight-time world champion emphasized the dangerous nature of rivals racing with absolute freedom, acknowledging Jorge Martin's resilience despite battling physical limitations.
“He has nothing to lose; he will push all the weekend. Martin, even with his injury, he’s riding also in a good way,” Marquez noted regarding the grid dynamics.
Aside from fierce on-track opposition, Marquez's running was slightly interrupted by a mechanical setback involving a broken chain on one of his Desmosedici machines.
“Opening day here in Qatar has been good. The feeling was good. This afternoon, it’s true that there are three, four riders who are very fast, very consistent,” he concluded, expressing confidence that his crew will rectify the technical hiccup.
