Australian motorsport legend Craig Lowndes has heaped high praise on Bayley Hall following an impressive performance at the iconic Bathurst 1000 endurance classic. Starting the race from 22nd on the grid, the pairing successfully steered clear of trouble, deftly avoiding opening lap drama at The Cutting. They bided their time until the sole race restart, where Hall expertly held off Broc Feeney to secure the final spot inside the top ten.

The achievement becomes even more remarkable considering the immense workload over the race weekend. Hall shouldered double duties, splitting his time between the wildcard entry and his Eggleston Motorsport Super2 campaign. Managing the psychological strain of competing at Mount Panorama for the very first time proved to be a significant test, yet the rookie handled the pressure with maturity.

"I think the biggest thing is the mental side of it," Lowndes stated regarding the rookie's steep learning curve. "There's so many highs and lows that go on over the week, not only just the race, but the whole week. The car is fast, so you're positive. The car gets slower and then you're negative and it's just so all that roller coaster that he has to learn to deal with in this environment. And look, honestly, he did a great job."

Lowndes also noted how mindful the team was regarding the physical and mental toll of jumping between two vastly different machinery setups. With the wildcard pathway once again proving its worth for rising stars, Lowndes firmly believes that Hall deserves a full-time seat in the main championship if an opportunity arises in the future.

Reflecting on the milestone result, Hall admitted it was a career-defining moment. "It wasn't a win, but it was probably the biggest win I've had in my career, that's the easiest way to put it," Hall told Speedcafe. With confidence high, the young charger now shifts his full attention toward maintaining his strong rookie standing in the upcoming Super2 rounds.
