How Wellness and Fitness Brands Conquered the 2026 F1 Paddock

Walking through the Formula 1 paddock in 2026 reveals a massive commercial shift, with health and fitness brands taking over spaces once reserved for banks, oil companies, and tech giants. Sleep trackers, hydration drinks, and fitness wearables now proudly display their logos directly on racing cars and team kits.

Three major teams have secured wellness partners for the current season. Ferrari kicked off its commercial calendar in January by partnering with WHOOP, marking the fitness wearable brand's debut in the sport. Meanwhile, Aston Martin brought in sleep technology firm Eight Sleep alongside energy drink brand Celsius, followed closely by McLaren announcing a hydration deal with Liquid I.V. ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.

This trend taps into a booming market where F1 team sponsorships reached an impressive $2.54 billion in 2025, marking a 22 percent increase from the previous year according to SponsorUnited figures. Although financial services and technology sectors still lead the financial charts, these new wellness entrants arrive with substantial funding and aggressive growth strategies.

Every single partnership is fundamentally sold on performance gains. Aston Martin commercial chief Jefferson Slack stated during the Eight Sleep announcement that performance in Formula 1 stems from accumulated marginal gains, noting that sleep is a critical performance input. Similarly, Ferrari's Lorenzo Giorgetti emphasized that WHOOP allows the team to extend their data-driven approach beyond the car itself.

The tangible benefits of these partnerships extend well beyond drivers like Fernando Alonso, directly supporting mechanics and engineers in the garage. Ferrari's medical team utilizes data to monitor stress and recovery among staff members, while specialized sleep systems are specifically engineered to help personnel cope with grueling travel schedules and timezone changes across consecutive race weekends.
