Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has shared the incredible and detailed story behind the restoration of his classic supercar in a brand new video uploaded to his official YouTube channel.
The British driver previously turned heads at the Monza circuit ahead of the Italian Grand Prix when he arrived behind the wheel of the newly-restored machine, creating an unforgettable moment for fans and paddock personnel alike.
Finished in the iconic traditional red paint scheme, the rare vehicle also features a custom number plate bearing his famous racing number 44.

In the video, Lewis Hamilton revealed fascinating details about the car's history, noting that it was originally picked up in 1991 before the previous owner drove it for just a short distance and stored it away permanently.
According to Crash.net, the vehicle remained untouched in a garage for decades until the meticulous restoration project brought the machine back to its absolute former glory.
Reflecting on the emotional significance of the project, Lewis Hamilton explained how much it means to own such an important piece of automotive history.
"When I joined Ferrari, my first shoot with the team was with this car. It was... It's just such an iconic car. It's one of the most iconic cars ever," Lewis Hamilton stated.
He continued by describing the vehicle's past, "And this car was picked up here in 1991. And the guy drove it 69km and parked in his garage, and it's never started since. You just think of the smile on the guy when the guy picked it up. How he felt, and he’s driving it home and then never touching it again."
Upon collecting the completed vehicle, the superstar driver exclaimed with pure excitement, "She looks so good. Wow, she looks brand new!"
Closing out his thoughts, Lewis Hamilton admitted that representing the Prancing Horse is a surreal honor, reflecting on childhood inspirations who never got the chance to wear the red race suit.
"It’s insane to be at Ferrari and have an F40. Just think like all the legends that have been here, and I think about how Ayrton Senna would have loved to have driven for this team. I think it would have been amazing to have seen him," he added.
