Lewis Hamilton has secured a massive personal milestone in his tireless campaign to bring Formula 1 back to the African continent. Rather than returning to the historic Kyalami circuit in South Africa, the sport is now actively finalizing plans to host a Grand Prix in Rwanda by the 2030 season.
For the star Scuderia Ferrari driver, this breakthrough validates years of behind-the-scenes lobbying with F1 executives. The seven-time world champion previously emphasized that an African race was so vital to him that he would delay his eventual retirement until it officially happened.
Dilansir dari Motorsport.com, the veteran racer reiterated why expanding the world championship calendar to this region is an absolute necessity, highlighting the unique appeal and cultural importance of the continent.

"I've always said that we need to have a grand prix in Africa," Hamilton stated. "It is, for me, the most important continent, to be honest, and the most beautiful continent."
Meanwhile, South African Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie publicly conceded defeat in the bidding war, acknowledging that Rwanda's sustained efforts earned them the historic 2030 slot.
