Kimi Antonelli set the fastest time in second practice for the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix with a lap of 1 minute 45.944 seconds at Spa-Francorchamps.
The championship leader returned Mercedes to the top after Max Verstappen had led FP1. Antonelli finished 0.190 seconds ahead of Lando Norris, while Verstappen took third at a deficit of 0.472 seconds.
The second practice session was disrupted by two red flags. The first stoppage was caused by Verstappen after he ran wide at Stavelot and dragged a significant amount of gravel onto the racing surface.

The second red flag arrived with approximately 14 minutes remaining. Pierre Gasly lost control after exiting the Fagnes chicane and hit the barrier, heavily damaging the rear of his Alpine.
Lewis Hamilton completed the session in fourth place, followed by Isack Hadjar and Oscar Piastri. Franco Colapinto placed the second Alpine seventh, while George Russell managed only eighth and finished 1.285 seconds behind his team-mate.
Charles Leclerc ended FP2 in 11th position, 1.524 seconds away from Antonelli’s benchmark. Oliver Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto, Esteban Ocon, Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz followed in the midfield order.
Aston Martin occupied the final two positions through Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso. Antonelli now heads into FP3 with the strongest single-lap benchmark, although the two red-flag periods limited the teams’ long-run programmes.
