Ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix, newly crowned world champion Kimi Antonelli embarked on a deeply emotional journey. The talented young driver took the time to visit the family of the late F1 legend Ayrton Senna, describing the experience as an unforgettable day in his life.
For Antonelli, Senna is far more than just a legendary driver; he is the moral compass and primary inspiration behind his racing career. This admiration is clearly reflected in his choice of race number, 12. The number holds significant historical weight, famously used by Senna during his first world championship title run with McLaren. Antonelli has confirmed he will continue to carry this number as a permanent tribute to his idol.
Following his championship victory in Mexico City, Antonelli traveled to Brazil with his father, Marco, to meet with Bruno, Bianca, and Paula Senna. During the visit, he had the rare opportunity to sit in the cockpit of the iconic Lotus 98T, the very car in which Senna secured victories in Spain and Detroit in 1986.

Taking to social media, Antonelli expressed his heartfelt gratitude: "An unforgettable day. Thank you to the entire Senna family. It will take some time to sink in, but I will carry these memories with me forever."
The Senna family warmly welcomed the visit, with Paula Senna expressing her admiration for the new champion's character. "We had the pleasure of welcoming the newest world champion, Kimi Antonelli. It is a connection between generations who share the same passion for motorsports and the pursuit of excellence," Paula stated.
