A fatal accident at a hairpin brought an Italian rally to a standstill after a Skoda driven by an Italian pairing left the road. The incident occurred just after the finish of the sixth special stage, turning the competitive atmosphere into deep sorrow.

Rally control immediately stopped the stage and dispatched emergency personnel to the scene. Despite rapid response and rescue attempts, the spectator's life could not be saved.

Tragedy Amid Competition

Along with the local motorsport federation and authorities, organisers decided to abandon the event entirely. Two special stages were still scheduled, but safety took priority.

A Debut Shadowed by Grief

Estonian prospect Jaspar Vaher, part of the Toyota WRC Challenge Programme, and co-driver Janni Hussi were competing in the asphalt rally. It was their first event together—yet that milestone is now overshadowed by tragedy.

Grief has enveloped the paddock. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the thin line between racing euphoria and the terrifying risks at the trackside.
