The motocross world championship has officially entered its winter hibernation phase across Europe, leaving fans with little on-track action aside from the upcoming Paris Supercross spectacle at La Defense Arena. Amidst the competitive lull, Tim Gajser utilized the precious downtime to reach a monumental personal milestone by marrying his long-term partner in an intimate ceremony.
The five-time world champion from Slovenia exchanged vows with his longtime companion Spela Motaln. The couple, who have shared a decade-long relationship, previously got engaged during a trip in the summer of 2025 before officially tying the knot in a carefully curated celebration that caught the attention of motorsport enthusiasts worldwide.
The picturesque Meneghetti winery in Croatia served as the backdrop for the private matrimonial event. Organized entirely by a professional planning agency—the same firm that managed the wedding for former Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob a year prior—the celebration blended elegance with tight-knit family warmth.
Several notable personalities from the paddock gathered to celebrate the newlyweds, including fellow rider Jaka Peklaj and prominent MXGP pit lane reporter Lisa Leyland alongside her family. Adding a touch of personal flair to the festivities, the Slovenian icon's prized Ferrari 488 Pista also made a notable appearance at the venue.
Having been forced to sit out the final rounds of the previous championship campaign due to injury, the champion is now preparing to dive into a rigorous winter training regime. Unlike the previous year when strict manufacturer contractual obligations delayed his debut integration with his new machine until after the new year, an early start is planned for the upcoming season.
