Silverstone witnessed another masterclass from Aprilia in the MotoGP British GP Sprint. Jorge Martin delivered a flawless performance to take his second win of the season, ahead of teammate Ai Ogura and Marco Bezzecchi in third. Aprilia came close to a perfect 1-2-3-4, but Raul Fernandez crashed out.
From lights out, Martin was in a league of his own, managing his rear tyre perfectly on a track known for being tough on rubber. Bezzecchi, meanwhile, put in a heroic ride, battling physical pain to secure the final podium spot. His emotional embrace with his mother after the race told the story of his struggle.
For Ducati, it was a day to forget. Marc Marquez struggled with rear grip and could only manage ninth, while Francesco Bagnaia finished a distant 17th. The factory team's woes raise serious questions ahead of the main race.
Alex Marquez was the best of the Ducati GP26 riders in fourth, ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Pedro Acosta. KTM and Honda showed progress, with Joan Mir and Davide Moreira inside the top ten.
Martin extends his championship lead, while Ducati faces a critical moment. Sunday's race will be a true test of character.
