Silverstone is set for a new wave of fan energy in 2027, as George Russell joins the home-hero tradition with his own grandstand. Following the roaring success of Lando Norris' 'Landostand', Russell has now revealed his own dedicated area, aptly named the 'GRandstand'.
Located at Farm Curve, the GRandstand promises what Russell describes as a "prime view" of the opening corners. "We're on the exit of Turn 1, so you can see all of Turn 1, Turn 2, the overtaking spot into Turn 3 and Turn 4," he explained. "It's a really, really cool place on the circuit—one of the best, in my opinion." It’s a spot designed to put fans right in the heart of the action from the very first corner.
The announcement comes after months of speculation. Earlier this year, Russell hinted at the project, saying, "It's something we've spoken about with the team in the past, and it's probably something we're working towards for next year." He even joked about trying to "steal" Norris's prime location outside Stowe, but ultimately settled on a spot that offers a different—yet equally thrilling—perspective.
Russell's move follows a growing trend of drivers creating personal tribunes at their home races. Norris's 'Landostand' has been a massive hit since its debut in 2025, the same year he clinched his first British GP victory. Russell, who has yet to win at Silverstone despite taking pole in 2024, will be hoping the GRandstand brings him similar luck. In 2024, his race ended early due to a water leak, while then-team-mate Lewis Hamilton took the win.
The GRandstand isn't just about spectating—it's about creating an atmosphere that could spur Russell to finally conquer his home race. With the support of a grandstand roaring his name, the dream of a Silverstone victory might just become a reality.
