The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has officially entered into a major global partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to integrate artificial intelligence into the development of future Formula 1 technical regulations. Under the terms of the new agreement, the tech giant assumes the role of the governing body's official artificial intelligence and cloud computing partner across various levels of motorsport.
The most substantial impact of this alliance will manifest in how future rules and sporting guidelines are structured. While the governing body previously relied on cloud computing power to execute complex aerodynamic simulations, technical and engineering personnel will now gain direct access to advanced artificial intelligence tools to streamline rule-making processes.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem emphasized that technology is rapidly transforming every facet of the sport and the organization must lead that evolution. The collaboration aims to support everything from next-generation racing machines to grassroots clubs where numerous professional motorsport careers originate.

By embedding top-tier cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure into operations, the federation intends to simplify participation for drivers, officials, and volunteers. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to improve efficiency for member clubs and advance the shared ambition of doubling global motorsport participation figures.
Kristin Shaff, global director of events, sports, and entertainment at AWS, highlighted that motorsport stands as one of the most demanding and data-intensive environments globally, positioning the governing body perfectly at the center of regulation and governance.
