Ferrari has been summoned to the Belgian Grand Prix stewards after allegedly failing to physically return used tyres to Pirelli before the start of FP2 at Spa-Francorchamps.
Under Formula 1’s sporting regulations, every team must return used tyres to the appointed supplier within a prescribed period after each on-track session. On Fridays, FP1 tyres must be returned before second practice begins so each driver’s remaining allocation can be updated.
Ferrari was noted as having complied with Articles B6.4.1 and B6.3.8 a) iii) by electronically returning the tyre sets used by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.

However, the Maranello-based team faces an alleged breach of Article B6.4.2, which requires every electronically returned tyre set to also be physically handed back to the tyre supplier before the following session starts.
“Any set of electronically returned tyres must also be physically returned to the Tyre Supplier before the start of the following session,” the regulation states.
A hearing with the stewards will determine whether Ferrari breached the tyre return procedure and whether a penalty is warranted. The supplied material does not include a final decision or any confirmed sanction.
Hamilton finished FP2 in fourth place, while Leclerc ended the session 11th. Ferrari’s attention now turns to both its performance evaluation and the stewards’ ruling ahead of the remaining Belgian Grand Prix sessions.
