Trackhouse Racing satellite rider Ai Ogura has delivered a sharp post-race analysis regarding his highly competitive execution during the Italian MotoGP at the Mugello Circuit. The Japanese rider narrowly missed out on a podium finish after losing a dramatic last-lap drag to the finish line against factory Ducati Lenovo star Francesco Bagnaia by a mere 0.034s delta. Despite displaying exceptional late-race pace on worn rubber, a primary variable that compromised Ogura's crucial track time was a messy overtaking maneuver on multi-time world champion Marc Marquez.

The technical incident unfolded as Ogura, who had been locked in seventh position for the majority of the Grand Prix duration, began exploiting the optimal edge grip of his medium-compound rear tyre. Launching an offensive move at Turn 10—widely recognized as one of the most critical zones for front tyre temperature and load management—the closing distance between the two prototypes deviated from the planned line. Ogura observed that Marquez released his front brake lever upon detecting the inside move, a high-risk scenario that forced the Trackhouse rider to mimic the brake release to prevent a catastrophic low-side crash.

Extreme Braking Dilemmas and Turn 10 Characteristics

This mutual collision-avoidance reaction forced Ogura's Aprilia RS-GP26 chassis and Marquez's Desmosedici GP26 machinery wide, drifting completely off the ideal racing line. The resulting trajectory deviation disrupted Ogura's corner-exit acceleration, instantly cutting down the lap time advantage he had systematically built up over the long-run phase. Prior to this intense friction with Marquez, the number 79 rider had also escaped high-speed contact with the factory KTM of Pedro Acosta during his steady progression through the leading group.

"Yeah, that wasn't really clean," Ogura admitted transparently when evaluating his Sunday telemetry data. "I think when Marc saw me, he released the brake and Turn 10 is one of the most critical points for the front tyre. It was too late to change my mind, but I couldn't squeeze the brake harder because I felt like I was going to crash. So I had to release the brake, and then we both went wide."

Championship Standings Impact and Technical Review

While having to settle for fourth position overall directly behind Bagnaia, the haul of 13 championship points from Mugello generated a significant impact on the riders' world championship table. Ogura has successfully reclaimed fifth position in the standings, moving back ahead of his teammate Raul Fernandez, who had taken a sensational victory in Saturday's Sprint session. Ogura's strong Sunday performance highlights the adaptability of the satellite chassis under high tyre degradation variables across a full race distance.

Meanwhile, the absolute top step at the home event was secured by factory Aprilia Racing rider Marco Bezzecchi, followed closely by teammate Jorge Martin in second to seal a historic one-two finish for the Noale factory. Ogura acknowledged that the podium trios intentionally depleted their tyre lifespans early on to establish a gap—a tactical risk he consciously avoided to retain late-race rubber compliance. A full technical review of the setup deficiencies encountered during Friday and Saturday qualifying rounds now remains the absolute priority for the Trackhouse engineering crew before heading to the Hungarian MotoGP.
